Diving Into the 90 Minute Reading Block

This session will include a discussion on how to implement a 90 minute reading block in the elementary classroom.  Sample classroom schedules and video clips of teachers working with small groups and demonstrating whole group mini-lessons will be presented.  The facilitators will also show examples of how to use The Daily 5 and a Reader's Workshop model as the structure for the 90 minutes.

 

Guided Reading: Make and Takes

Target Audience – 3-5

 

Teachers are preparing many whole group and small group guided reading lessons each week. This workshop will help teachers prepare some guided reading lessons based on the continuum of learning for readiness in the coming school next year.

*Teachers will bring copies of class sets from their own classrooms.

*During this workshop, the facilitators will guide teachers through preparing lessons using a lesson template the reading continuum.

*The lessons will then be copied for every member of the workshop to share and use for future examples.

 

Flipping/Blending Lessons with Technology at the Elementary Level

In this session we will look at integrating technology into elementary classroom lessons, as well  applying the "flipped lesson" methodology in the elementary setting.  We will provide multiple resources, pros and cons, examples of lessons, and have interactive discussions.  Staff members will possibly  be able to create a flipped lesson using program materials as well.

 

Easy Ways to Use Google Forms in the Classroom

In this workshop you will work with Google Forms to create bell work, quizzes, web quests, and more.  This will be an interactive session where you will have time to work
